
IE6 is a security risk. IE7 is much more secure, and IE8 even more so. Any risk after that is due to user failure - always the weaker link. No one STOPPED getting infected simply by and only by switching to an alternative browser. You still need to keep Windows updated, a firewall running, current anti-malware software, and avoid risky practices (like illegal filesharing, illegal porn or gambling, opening attachments and downloads without scanning, etc. regardless the browser used.Internet Explorer is a security risk. If you need one site that has to use it, I suggest finding an alternative site.
