Does the 32 bit connect to the same website(s)? Try running IE without add-ons:

Open IE> Tools (Gear icon)> Manage Add-ons

Disable addons and see if problem is corrected.

If not, boot to Safe mode with Networking and see if you can connect there.

If so, try a clean start to see what may be conflicting

You can also try through a web based proxy and see if that works:

Howdy, I did that and the same problem. Tried to boot in safe mode with f8 key but iit jumps to boot CCD's and HD boot up choice. Like when you hit the del key to change the boot device. Maybe I have a missing dll? If I use msconfig, I can't boot in safe mode with networking. I do have the idea that I will have to format and reinstall! Yuk.
Maybe the earlier probs cause this??

Does the 32 bit connect to the same websites? You could try the various options in Shyam's IE Restorator

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/98056-sf-ie-restorator-troubleshooting-general-issues-ie.html

I would run the System File Checker, and if necessary try a Repair install before resorting to a reinstall. Perhaps someone else will have some ideas as well. I have only used the 64 bit IE to see that it worked.

As the saying goes here in the Land Of Oz, yer bloods worth bottling mate!! I downloaded and used the SF IE restorator and thanks to Captain Jack. All is fine. It must have been the DNS (I think). So till next time, again many thanks and have a nice day in San Fran.

Darn. Since you plan to reinstall, you might try to click on IE in add or remove and see if it gives an option to repair. A Guy

I think with IE you can go to Ctl Panel, and disable IE but not remove and install. Not only that but my F8 does not work. So I will do a backup of the C drive and then go where angles fear to tread (no not South Central La!!).Thanks again and CUL....

You are quite right. I was on my work iPad when I posted that, sitting in my truck waiting for my customer. So I couldn't look. Sometimes a clean install is best. A Guy
