Solved IE 8 new tab stops at connecting

Hi Guys,

I bought a new Sony Viao laptop for my dad. It has the following :

- Intel core i5
- Windows 7 Pro
- 4 GB RAM
- Nvidia GPU

Today while surfing I figured that when I open a link in new tab, IE 8 new tab says connecting... and nothing happens. I tried to fix it by resetting IE 8 settings to default but that did not help.

I uninstalled IE 8 from Win 7 (turn on/off windows features) and then selected IE 8 again using the same way. Now I have IE 8 again but there are 2 problems.

- IE 8 new tab still stops at connecting ...
- IE 8 Quicklaunch icons has disappeared. How do I get it back the say way its in windows 7. I mean right click should show IE 8, inprivate etc.

Will be grateful if anyone can help me.

Problem fixed: Found a batch file on the web. Ran it and it re-registered dll and other files. After a reboot the problem was solved.
