IE no worky

I tried both versions that 7 pro comes with, IE 32 bit and 64. Neither will connect and when I diagnose the issue with the diagnose button that appears, it says something along the dns server may be experiencing problems. But firefox works like a charm ! IE is set to the default of automatically detecting settings. Any ideas?

Disable the auto-check thingy...

See if that makes a difference for you.

If it is set, it may over-ride your individual, manual settings.

There are no manual settings. Like firefox did it should just detect them. So i left it alone.

This is odd...i started my own thread about IE not working, but i saw this one and took your advice and it worked....sorta. It made me go thru the setup process again and i selected things a little different so that must have been the fix somehow. But heres the starnge thing....it opend site in a seperate tab. So there were 2 tabs open, the one that worked and went to the site i chose, and the first tab which was still displaying a eror ! So i closed the working tab and entered the site in the remaining tab with the error prompt and it doesn't work ! whats going on here?

Update: i closed the original tab and the second one stayed up and i made a shortcut from the right click menu, closed IT, then opened it and not it works ! Bizarre....will MS ever stop playing such weird tricks on us? LOL!
