Just today I got the "This page is accessing information that is not under its control" dialog about 10-15 seconds max after startup.

I hardly use IE. The only thing new I've installed is a giveaway of Folder Marker.

Event Viewer doesn't give any clues.

Sounds like something got added to your startup.

Press Windows Key + r then type msconfig in the run box.

click the Startup tab and post a screenshot here.

The screenshot can't be inserted into the message, because your board software's rules count its size as text, making it exceed 25000 bytes. And Flickr is dead, Jim, so you'll have to take my word for it, sorry...

Nothing here I don't recognize...

"Realtek HD Audio Manager," my sound card driver
"Classic Shell," makes Windows 7 look like earlier versions; sadly its maintainers retired

"Microsoft Security Client," a.k.a. MS Security Essentials; Win8 and later use something with "Defender" in its name

"Everything," an alternative search indexer (MUCH faster than the standard one)
"Visual Subst," an improvement on the Windows "subst" command; free at ntwind.com
"Kana Reminder," OLD but reliable text-reminder that can also run commands
"AMD Quick Stream," video-card driver companion
Windows Sidebar, only set to popup a countdown clock widget (to the end of all Win7 support)
"NetTraffic," graphically shows modem activity in a compact space
"Catalyst Control Center," graphics-card interface
"T-Clock Redux," allows customizing the date/time in the taskbar

One thing I have done since the OP was to go into Internet Options/Security/Internet Zone/Custom/Miscellaneous, and change "access data sources across domains" to "disable" from "prompt." That at least stopped the dialog, and no other noticeable things have happened.
