I am seeing an occasional (sometimes frequent) problem with accessing Google search results using IE - I am not sure whether the issue is with Google or IE.

What happens is that I enter search requirements into Google, and it presents back links. Sometimes, when I click the link I get another tab, but the pageis blank, rather than showing the selected web page. Investigation shows that the link in Google is translated to an internal Google string (something like http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=12&ved=0CGcQFjAL&url=http%3A%2F%2Fuktv.co.uk%2Ffood%2Frecipe%2Faid%2F573902&ei=UkIZVL6RK4WWaorfgtgD&usg=AFQjCNFe6xgarSVXPAFYTsq68i7bs0W0Cg) that is translated to the URL of the site in question (Spicy tomato and apple chutney: Recipes: Good Food Channel in this case). I am then directed to that site.

What seems to be happeing in that the address bar in IE gets the Google string, but the translation to the URL is not happening (see attached screen shot for effect). I can press the 'Refresh' bitton on IE and the page then loads.

So - any thoughts on what is happeing here?

If you haven't already, try deleting the browser history and see if that helps

Hi,
Probably not a bad idea to clear your history and possibly clear your cache while your at it,
Use Alt+TD or Gear symbol on the top right and Safety/ Delete browser history,
Uncheck the top box and check all others,
You can Uncheck Form fills if you use that feature/ Delete,
Close ie and reopen and test,

This is the search page I received when using your search terms,
https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=Spicy%20tomato%20and%20apple%20chutney
Seemed to work properly when using the second suggestion

You might use this also to see what it finds and post any scan results,

Guys

Thanks for your suggestions - I did clear history to see if that made a difference, and it seemed not to - it worked for the first couple of links, and then back to the same problem. I will try the full piece suggested by ThrashZone and see what that does
