After saving a web page previously opened in IE, IE then takes more than a minute or two to open that file. This occurs on a Dell desktop and an HP notebook, both of which are running Win 7 Pro, 64 bit and IE 11, 32 bit, and updated with the same important Windows updates.

Any thoughts, or am I just lucky?

Just curious, how might rolling back to IE 10 help with IE 11?

Hi,
It will narrow the issue down to ie11 alone and not Internet explorer in general but that assumes you ever had ie10 installed
If you upgraded from ie8-9 to ie11 that's what you'll roll back to,
You'll then need to download ie9 or 10 to test,
ie10 is way more stable than ie11 trust me there ;)
If only ie11 is offered via windows updates Hide that update and another version will be offered if you check for updates again,
Cheers.

When you first asked via PM about re-setting your default associations for html & htm, but then developed that question into this one above, brings up the point to ask for more background informational questions from you, like was it working okay last week for instance, or was it ever working right? What changes did you do or what was changed between when it worked better up till now? As I mentioned earlier we just need more information to form a good understanding of the problem.

Realize though that saving .mht & .html of a webpage (I usually prefer .mht's myself) that afterwards these days most often will need access online to download it's content before it will render. Also consider just for an exaggerated reference if you were are on an old 56k dialup connection, and saved a webpage as .mht or html and when you go to open it, it will open as slowly as your internet connection allows for it to pick up the extra content online it needs to render - which would be pretty slow; although an average internet connection will render them in less than 5 seconds, mine does. In years past you could save an .mht or .html file and even if your Internet was unplugged, usually that webpage file would still render - but I have noticed more and more as years go by that these days an .mht or .html of saved webpage files will not render anymore unless you have internet access, especially https

Anyway, if you could explain more historical information of your issue, we could get a better idea of how to serve you better.
