IE11 Release Preview for Windows 7 Now Available

I thought there would be a version of Windows 8 ,unfortunately not

If you mean no IE11 for Windows 8 - Yes, Microsoft already said there would be no IE11 on Win 8, since it's a already incorporated in 8.1, which basically kills off Windows 8.

Basically once Windows 8.1 goes live Oct 18, Windows 8 pretty much dies the next day. This of course is the simple synapse but you get the drift.

The drift of 8 that is! blahhhh... One of the most likely reasons why live feed wouldn't be working is probably due to the site still needing to update things for 11 maybe only now catching up finally for IE 10 at the Giants as well as a long list of other sites. That plus 11 is still not the finished product with all the goods included as of yet.

And I've stated in many of my posts that IE10 worked flawlessly on the site. So does Firefox, so does Chrome. IE11 is the only browser struggling with the site(s)

Speaking of which... I'm willing to bet a good penny it's not just giants.com that has issues with IE11, but any of the NFL teams sites using the same code. I'll bet if I visited dallascowboys.com during a live feed the same issue would occur because the site uses the same code.

And we're well aware 11 isn't a finished product. I've stated that many times in my posts.

At any rate I'm still confused as to how my post above generated your response considering I was merely answering the question of another poster as to why IE11 wasn't being offered to Windows 8 users

Well besides still being in preview form which is one explanation you may have to consider what else 11 is bringing in with it as far as security and a few other things seeing a slight change in how it manages web based media in general. Or you might just have some sort of conflict or setting change needed as suggested earlier.

I would need to wait until the next live feed is active to see if 11 is able to view it or not simply as a second system running 11. If the same live feed or other does work then the problem would be localized at your end.

Don't know if it's related, but I discovered a hardware fault..
- the SATA lead to one of my SSD's had worked loose..

So I'm not the only one who has problems with those awful SATA cables.

I've just spotted these:

looks like they clip into place firmly..
might invest in some - when funds allow..

I notice that when reading emails that IE 11 frequently redirects me back to my homepage which is a nuisance. As for the latching sata cables, they work with optical and spinners and motherboards but won't lock on ssd's.

Well besides a few getting offtrack a bit we understand what you are saying but do you understand what we have been trying to explain? IE 11 is still in beta form regardless of being labeled a preview. It may have reached what has previously been referred to as the Release Candidate equivalent but still needs works before the finished browser is out.

The findings here so show 11 to be an improvement and leap of course only running 10 on the Win 8 CP and RP builds and just having updated a second remote 7 Pro case to IE 10 there from 9. The main culprit so far for anything seen with 11 has also had an effect on other browsers(IE 9, WaterFox, Opera) as well being software/web filtering. While a most more secure ride on the web without a doubt the protections can have their inconveniences at times.

That was the glitch seen here. For others changing a setting in the Security zone or Compatibility view seems to have had an effect or possible solution for other problems that came up. Since most everyone will tend to see an entirely different mix of softwares and startups on each system having a one time cure all solution just isn't there. As with anything in any form of beta you have to experiment a little at times to tweak things to work the way they should.

Surely you mean an on-line e-mail account like Google right?

I've been considering visiting my local PC parts store and checking out if they have any in stock.

My friend's last upgrade (motherboard and case) included a couple of latching SATA cables.

I think the ones I have came with one of my motherboards. I haven't had to buy any cables in a while but I'm sure you'd be able to find some.

Try compatibility view... Tools, click Compatibility View Settings, and add the troublesome website.

You have that correct! So far after leaving several 11 windows open for lengthy periods of time i haven't seen one freeze up so far. I started seeing that a few years back when IE 9 was on for a bit and then started acting up. I then reverted back to 8 after a clean install of 7 and both saw the same problem until I was forced to see another browser made the default.(WaterFox 64bit version of FF)

As far as the other minor annoyances? found so far just a few minutes wait for a fresh window or refreshing the av program to actually refresh the firewall and web filtering clears things up fast. When going to play any web media the other browser has been the one found to be missing plugins however while 11 seems good each time.

IE11 and Google

Seems Microsoft did an update to IE11 and seems to have taken their "scroogle" campaign to a whole new level by hosing the way Google is displayed....



BTW Google notified me that it was put in compatibility Mode by IE....



Checking IE11 though shows it's not in Compatibility View though...



Anyone else seeing this with Google and IE11???

This is with both Windows 7 & Windows 8 machines running IE11

For me Scroogle displays properly but yeah, whenever I click on notifications I get that "compatibility view" message as well, even though it's not listed.

Though personally I don't care - I only go to the Play store when having to search for an Android app so, apart from YouTube, I stay well away from Scroogle.

Whether you use Google or not, its just messed up that Microsoft has to play these childish games, and try forcing users into using Bing.

Anyway I'm sure the issue will get sorted out, but in the meantime I'll use Firefox when using Google as I don't want to use Bing. Tried it didn't like it.

Not sure if this is a fix or coincidence but adding Google as an add-on to search providers and setting it as default fixed the Google display issue...



Tools, Manage add-ons, click Search Providers, down by the close button to it's left you'll see a link that says "find more search providers...", click it and choose your search provider of choice. When you click one it'll ask to be added to Internet Explorer, say yes. Restart IE, and go back and set your choice as default and make sure it's enabled. Restart IE and all should be good. Works on both W7 & 8 running IE11.

All is good now.

Now I see the reason I couldn't replicate that ugly rendering. I had my searches and accelerators set to Google all the time.

Thanks, and if you're using IE11 with the accelerator, than yeah, it appears you wouldn't notice it. BTW thanks for confirming my suspicion with your info.

And note that I didn't have to do this with when I first downloaded IE11 a few weeks back. In fact I hadn't even have to do this with IE10. Seems some recent changes in IE11 requires the use of that accelerator now
