hi there,

I would like to know if it's normal that after doing a "maintenance" cleanup on the pc, Ccleaner & PC tools "Clen Your Disk" option, (cookie/temp files, etc), then IE11 will lose all saved passwords. on Ccleaner the option "Saved Password" is UNticked.

On Chrome and Firefox instead, even by cleaning cookies and temp files, the passwords are still there.

Is it a bug or is "normal" ? I am not saying my IE11 is not asking me to save passwords as some other people reported, mine works fine just that once you clean temp files and cookies, also the passwords go.

thanks
Gab

Very normal, if you don't exclude your forums cookies from the clean list.

PC Tools? ?
How do I configure Privacy Settings?
Step 1. Select the Settings tab and click the Privacy link in the left panel to access this screen.

Step 2. Modify settings from the list presented:
Globally clean Internet Explorer tracks as part of Privacy cleaning - select this check box to allow PC Tools Performance Toolkit to clear Internet Explorer tracks for all users as opposed to the current, logged in user account. Selecting this option allows global cleaning of the following Internet Explorer tracks- History, Cookies and the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Yep, it's normal if you use PC Tools and tell it to clean up cookies.

It appears that there is an option after reading Privacy Guardian:
Privacy Cleaning
How do I clear my browser's History?
.....
Step 4. To prevent specific cookies from being cleaned, you will need to save them as Cookies you wish to retain.

Note: This is only available for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome. Click Select which cookies you want to retain - In the list of available cookies, select the check boxes next to the cookies that you wish to keep.

That describes Privacy Guardian which sounds more like a real time tool, the manual tool might have the same options or use the same settings. I don't know.
