Let us know how it goes. I don't know why or how downloading msn im would change IE8 to IE7.

It is MSN Messenger.
I used the link on MSN home page in IE8.
Did a fresh install, installed IM again.
It did it this time also, it appears the installer installed IE7 as an
upgrade for IE8.
Having some other problems with Win7x64, going back to x32.
