Dear Friends,
Need your help to fix this problem with IE8.. Suddenly (not sure what I did), most of the website I visit causes the IE8 to crash.. what happens is that the browser hangs for a long time, it tries to restore/recover the web page... it fails and finally pops up a dialog box asking me to 'look for online solution or close the page'.. and I end up choosing the close option.. Unfortunately, when this happens, the entire OS hangs.. I can't do any other activity but just to stare at my monitor..

I tried with 'Fix IE' utility.. but no success.

The error that gets recorded is as below:

Welcome

Several choices may solve the problem

Use a different browser, FF and Chrome are very good choices

Remove the add ons. Tools>interenet options>advanced>reset.

If this does not work run an antivirus scan and download and run malwarebytes.

Let us know what happens.

I have given you another suggestion to solve the problem. Remove the add ons from IE, I bet that works.

not yet

I tried the sfc /scannow command as explained in one of the other posts..

No problems..after scanning for about 10-15 mins, there was a message that no integrity problems found..

I tried cleaning up and also used anti-malware programs.. removed add-ons in IE8 as well.. using one of the auto tools from MS support page..

No help still..

Please suggest any other way to decipher the error message and to fix the problem.
