IE8 freezes up at specific website

the update is KB980302 that is the one to uninstall follow Richc46's instructions

I do not recogize that number I have 64 bit, I will check, be right back.

Pebbly was right, that is the number. Came out just about a week ago.

no its the same update Microsoft Download Center: Search Results so i dont no what the problem is that you are experiencing, maybe another member knows

This seems to be a common but not consistent issue.
A lot of people w/ W7 IE8 have load issues w/ one or two web sites.
There are several "fixes" out there that work for some but not others.
I can probably live with this until I do my next clean install?
Unless there are other thoughts on the matter.

the website you refer to pdx, comes up alright for me on my pc,there is no compatibility view radio button on the site either so it should be ok, i will do some more searching and let you know

try this pdx You cannot view, access, or load some Web pages when you use Internet Explorer 8 it may or maynot be of help to you

I don't use Internet Explorer anymore. I use Firefox, Google chrome.

Well, I also spend most the time on Chrome.
I like Firfox except its never ending Flash issues.
Like Safari.
Just started playing w/ Opera about a week ago & will start using more.
I really just need IE to check web work I do given it is the most popular browser.
The site in question happens to be one of the sites I do some work on.
Nature of the beast!

At some point I uninstalled Skype.....had no effect so I reinstalled.

I put this thought out there on a previous thread.......I think the root of this issue sometimes is a Flash issue as that is where the broswer locks up on Analysis Plus Cables - Home Audio, Home Theater, Pro. The first .flv loads but the stall for me seems to come when the .swf banner tries to load?
