Hi,

So, my browser have been acting out with its history so I decided to delete all information through the Internet Options, not before copy-pasting the history folder.
This solved the browser problem, but now when I'm pasting the copied folder (60MB) back to its original place (Local>microsoft>windows...) it does 2 things:

1)Present me with some 0X800704C8 error regarding the index.dat. and refuses to replace the new with my old.

2)Everything else has been copied but when I try to view it- I'm being shown only todays history.

Please help!

Ps. Win7.

P.s.s When I click 'properties' on the pasted history- it weighs 60MB.

Thx.

Index.dat is always in memory, you'll need to log into the PC with an Administrators account and naviate to C:\User\etc and copy over the index.dat file that way.

Thank you,
Would that make all of the history from the last 30 weeks to reappear again?

I don't know ... I know that some of the history is stored in the registry. At least it used to be back when I looked into this stuff.

First, thank you for the attempt.

Second, so I just fiddled around in the control pannel and I see now that I *am* the admin, so all this happened under my administrature. I also browsed the intertubes and I see that windows contain several index.dat files-one of which is in the "internet temporary files" folder- and that one is indeed replaceable.

Also, I tried this in safe mode with the same result.

thx :)

PS. Can I say 'administrature' or I should have used 'administration'? :P
