I have IE 9. Does anyone know if I can shut this off?

This happens when I try to click to see my profile. A pop up of my profile would come up.

TY

Yey .... been looking to zap this silly notice that springs up telling me I'm being protected from the horrors of cross site scripting almost every page on some sites ..... really really irritating. By all means MS, protect me, no problem with that. But dont keep telling me you are doing it, its really boring, and extremely irritating. There are times when the cure is worse than the desease.

Thank You Ron, most grateful to you.

Regards
Zy

Yeah, I don't know why you have to be told each time it happens. If you're going to disable XXS, I sure would think about using a Host file to block some of the "nasties". XSS is used by most every site to "enhance your web experience" with advertising. :sarc: The problem is that the site you visit may not have control of what occurs in the script retrieved from the site doing the advertising. I've seen very reputable sites get blocked or blacklisted because the advertising site got hacked or was trying to do some less-than-kosher scripting. (Like reading your disk drives)

I spent about two weeks on IE9 and went back to IE8 so you-all are a better man than me. :) I don't even know if the Host file is still implemented in IE9. Two weeks was about all I could take.

It's late and I popped my sleeping aid about 25 mins ago so forgive my stupidity. So what are you saying Ron and Carwiz? Disabling that is dangerous?

LOL... Probably no more dangerous than disabling your anti-virus software. :D
Anytime you disable security layers, you open a door. The number of doors you leave open increases your odds of being attacked. I'm not saying you have to live in a cave. Just be aware that there's folks out there that live to destroy your PC just for the fun of it. Others would like to have the info on it.

In that case I'm turning the security back on! If anyone figures a way to stop the popup and still keep the security, then chime in...
