Recently ie9 just hangs up everytime i run a new window and creating a tab/clicking the tools icon but wont hang the 2nd time(if i dont close ie9 completely..)

This happens when i install the april update. I already tried the reset button several times
and disabling/enabling ie9 through windows feature but still no luck.

One of the first things to do when any IE has problems is to disable all add-ons.

When you go to Start\All programs\Accessories\System Tools , do you see a listing for Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)?

If you do, open IE9 from there and see if it makes an improvement.
If it does, then you are having a problem with your add-ons, and will have to use the process of elimination to find the one that is causing the problem.

Two of the biggest offenders are Google's Toolbar, and Java.

If there is no listing for Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) you can go to Tools\Manage add-ons and disable each one by right clicking on it and then left click on disable when the context menu appears.

Also make sure you have this installed:
Which updates are required to install Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7?
On Windows 7, Internet Explorer 9 requires the following updates:
Update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 - KB2454826
Source: Internet Explorer 9 FAQ for IT Professionals

To find information on your updates go here:
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update\View update history

If you do not have it, click Here or the KB link to reach the download page.

If you use both x86, and x64 versions of IE9 you will have to download both versions. Otherwise just download for the version you have.

You can find that information under Help\About.

Thanks for the useful info but the problem still persist, disabled the add-ons but still no change.

Cant seem to find that KB on my machine so I downloaded those 2 files and try to install but it says "The update is not applicable to your computer"

The KB i think is already included in Windows 7 service pack 1?

Still had no idea on whats causing this to IE9.

In the start search box, type eventvwr. Click on the icon and see if you can tell what is causing IE9 to hang. click 'Applications and Services' down arrow to expand the tree, then click Internet Explorer.

Hate to dredge up an old thread, but I got a similar problem. IE 9 works just peachy for me. I go to different sites and it loads just fine. However, when I go to my site that I'm developing for my employer, it hangs... I get a white screen and then the little green circle spins for about 10 seconds before the browser says (Not Responding) at the top. This happens only at this site.

I installed Developer Tools and tried to diagnose the problem this way:

* Opened up my browser, which went to my homepage, bing.com.
* Opened up Developer Tools by hitting F12.
* Entered the URL of the site I'm working on and hit Enter.
* The Developer Tools window vanished and I get a blank page without as much as an indication of what could possible be wrong.

I did notice a torn document icon in the URL bar.

What the heck is the problem here?

Hi Nader Abudeib, and ysg welcome to 7F! :)

For Nader Abudeib:
Just saw your post when ysg's notification came to me. Do not know how I missed it earlier. :o

How did you fare with trying the change in the family safety app.?

For ysg:

The torn document icon signifies that you are attempting to load something that is corrupt, as in a file, a webpage or in the case of downloading a program, an action that has been canceled and might be restarted. Sometimes it will not.

In researching this for you, I see you are receiving good help here:
https://groups.google.com/group/cak...2105248598a?show_docid=cf5f92105248598a&pli=1
My first impression was that there was some type of permissions problem with the web site you are developing, and in a way there is.
After reading from the above link you are having some type of coding problem. This unfortunately is out of my league.

Yes it would have been better if you posted a new thread for your situation, as the OP's, and Nader's did not involve newly developed web pages.

But hey! No harm, no foul. My hope is, you get it solved.
