Solved Ie9 reading video

I use Windows 7 Pro and IE9. Sometime during the last couple of months I have not been able to read a video sent via email. The viedo wont display and I get a message to install an Adobe flash player with Chrome. I have done several times with the message that it installed correctly and I even get a message just before I try to read the video I see a message that it is allready installed, yet it does not work. At one time out of several I did see a message stating that some setting on the Windows 7 Pro is preventing this. Have not been able to discover what. I have reduced the security settings on IE9 way down temporarly with no help.

Any ideas?

Windows 7 Pro / IE9

I have a problem that has been trying very hard to drive me craxy if it has not do so yet.

For an unkown reason, about two months ago, I stopped being able to read a video that required Adobe Flash Drive. My system says in Programs and Features that I have it installed. Every time I click a video that requires Adobe Flash I am prompted to download the program which I allready have. I go ahead and do it, am advised that it installed correctly but still does not work. Something in either Windows 7 or IE9 appears to be blocking it. I have reviewed all of the IE9 settings in options, still no help. When I goggle this I see that I am not the only one having this problem.

Doesn anyone have a solution?? I cannot find a link to Adobe Support. Seven Forums has bailed me out many times in the past.

Don't know for sure, but try to completely uninstall the flash player from the computer, then reinstall it from scratch.

By the way, do you have 32 or 64 bits Windows? If you're using 64 bits, remember that you should install both versions of the flash player, x86 and x64, for browsers to work correctly in both modes.

You may also try using a real browser instead of IE and see if it can render videos correctly.

I have removed re-installed at leasst three times, no help. Programs a Features says I have Adobe Flas 11 installed. I have also discovered that another program that I use a lot is WHINDOWS ALBUM MAKER, it also requires Adobe Falsh to view, that also does not work. So, it appears that something in IE9 OR WINDOWS 7 PRO is blicking the flash palyer from working. That is what I am asking for help on. Some time back I had a situation where I had saved many email videos that I received by placing the links into a word document, then all I needed to do was press ctrl+click to read the video generalywith an .htm extension, this stopped working, I got a reply from one of the Sevenforums members that solved the problem.

Adove Flash 11

Thank you all for your replies to my post.
I was able to solve my problem, one of the IE9 updates had retet the ADVANCED options in IE9 by disabling Active X, when this was discoverd I re-endabled it and the Adobe Flash 11 now works.
