Well, let's see, millions upon millions of people use Microsoft products and there are tons of PC configurations and external peripherals that people are trying to use. Without a doubt, some people will experience issues.
And people with issues are 1). usually the ones who come to these sites to try to resolve them 2). Are the loudest. There are probably tons of people who are just happily plugging away with Windows 7 and aren't experiencing big problems.

Every OS has its problems. Windows 95 did, Windows XP did, Windows Vista did, Windows 7 does.

Most of the issues we are dealing with over in the Installation/Setup trenches are dual boots that users want to abandon in a few hours or days.
This is the strongest endorsement of Win7 I've seen, as even us beta testers took weeks or months to give up our dual boots.
Each one of these dual boot extractions is solvable but involves: using a partition manager disk to delete the first XP/Vista partition, mark the Win7 active then move it over to include the first partition's space, then finally run Win7 Startup Repair repeatedly to rebuild the boot.
I would guess we've done several dozen of these and each is a long involved thread, each also a credit to Win7's instant likeability.
