can I use that same disc to reinstall it as my "genuine" window 7? since the previous install already deleted my window vista..

The situation now is my current OS is window 7(upgraded from vista),can I reinstall it using the same method?(upgrade disc) without worrying the copyright and such?

I want to do so because I heard peoples said that if you have a partition with OS alone will grant better performance to the PC..so I tryin' to immediately after the installment of the new window 7, I want to do a partition for the OS alone only, separate it with the programs file and such to avoid the OS file mix around with other file..

please give me some advice..

Thank you very much:)

You can also now go to Disk Management, right click on the one big Windows 7 paritition and ask it to Shrink Volume.

The Wizard will query the HD to see how much it can shrink your Win 7 partition.

If you accept to shrink it by that much, or by whatever other amount you tell it, then you will have Windows 7 on a separate partition.

It will leave unallocated space to the right of Win7 partition. Right click on that space and select to Create New partition in that space. I suggest you format it Logical which is standard for data partitions.

You can now transfer your data into the new partition from Windows 7 using explorer.

As Bob indicated, since you have a valid Vista license you qualify to use an upgrade license, and you can install or reinstall with that.
In order to transfer your user files, I suggest you check this tutorial. It will transfer the files and set your User folders to be in the new drive, so everything you save in the user files (such as My Documents) will go there.
