Solved IIS on Windows 7 Questions

I am having following questions to IIS on Windows 7 Ultimate edition

1.) What is default IIS version (7.0 / 7.5) comes with Windows 7 Ultimate Edition ?

2.) How do I know the version of IIS is currently running on my Windows 7 ?

Hello QT,

According to the Microsoft link below, it's the 7.5 version of IIS, but you have to turn Internet Information Services on in Windows Features to have it since it's turned off by default.

IIS 7.5 is IIS 7.0 the difference 7.5 comes with the extra downloaded additions.

Thanks Brink and Logicerth for the useful info , both of you did answered my question.

Just for additional share info. I have figured out how to look up the version of IIS currently installed on your Windows 7 PC, where as soon as you have IIS Manager opened , you can basically click on Help and about. It is going to tell you the exact version of IIS you are running on the PC.

Here is the exact Steps:
1.) Go to - Control Panel
2.) select Administrative Tools
3.) double click on Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
4.) Once the IIS Manager opened , click on "Help" and then select "About".
