Microsoft is parading victories in nothing short of the ultimate Windows face-off on its website and Linux and Mac OS X are nowhere to bee seen. This because the confrontations have nothing at all to do with market share, or with feature lineup, hardware and software support, security, etc. Instead, Microsoft has thrown one against the other Windows users in the arena of Windows Live Photo Gallery. A simple extension of The Rookies part of the reportedly $300 million Windows advertising campaign debuted in 2008 and, designed to breathe new life into the Windows brand, the new ads feature a battle among generations.
