Solved I'm confused by Update filenames

I've just installed W7 Ultimate (on a test machine) using an integrated ISO I built with NTLite. However, there still at least 100 updates available from Microsoft, so I'll do another integration.

But I'm confused.

The first integration included Updates obtained via Windows Updates Downloader.
All of those had names like 'Windows6.1-KB2872339-x64.msu'

For the new integration, I downloaded the 100 missing updates from the Microsoft Catalog site.
Each one of these came in its own folder, and the files all have a much longer name.
Example:
Folder name: 'Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2803821)'
File name: 'AMD64-all-windows6.1-kb2803821-v2-x64_d89c709a7908f771a78e27933081f269c2abfb9d.msu'

I intend to merge the two collections of Update files.

My questions:
1) Should I remove the second lot from their folders?
2) What's the significance of the longer names of the second group?

I'm wondering if perhaps they always have long names in their 'native' state and Windows Updates Downloader abbreviates them for some reason?

For some reason I couldn't do this as an Edit, so here goes a heads-up:

As no-one has commented in 22 hours, I'm assuming that Seven members might appreciate the answers I dug up myself while I was waiting for enlightenment.

According to a post on Tom's Hardware, the 'AMD64' prefix is because:

The "amd64" files are required for a 64-bit system. They have the initials "AMD" in them because the 64-bit extension of the Intel x86 architecture was actually created by AMD, and the first 64-bit x86-compatible processors were AMD processors. So when Microsoft first started adapting 64-bit Windows they were designing it for AMD processors.

Regarding the containing folders of the files from Microsoft Catalog, a post on the NTLite site seems to indicate that file-names (which will also include the path) should not exceed 260 characters. In which case I think I'll remove all of those Catalog files from their folders.

After which, I think I'll mark this monologery as 'solved'.
