Should be pretty light, as it uses the internet to scan, kind of like Panda antivirus. So the only disadvantage would be a required internet connection for best results. It will most likely have a caching function like Panda does now. And reason software is made up of by some ex microsoft employees, so that is always a plus.

It's been scanning for a half hour (and now it is frozen).

Says it's connecting to Cloud.

Can't wait to see results.

It's up to file 1500 of 9000.

Think i'll stick to MSE, Malwarebytes and Superantispyware and WOT - they've worked great - no reason for change.

It is still in beta. But I use it constantly here for malware removal and I do not have any issues. Try clicking the cloud in the bottom left corner. It will test your connection and troubleshoot if necessary. (Including if malware blocking it is the cause.)

I clean PC's all day so I'll give it a shot. Sorry if this info was said or easily available but just wondering, is it mandatory online or lets say for some reason the connection is down, will the definitions be stored locally in some way so that you can still run a scan?

I do not know yet, as it is not out yet.

Herdprotect where it stands now requires an internet connection, scans the pc and can show results as well as save a log. Which is what I use it for on the forums here. When it releases as a standalone product with realtime protection, I believe it will do what panda does now, it will have a cache database. But constant internet connection is preferred of course for the best detection and removal.

I let it finish (after one hour) and it then said another scan was needed.

It found 27 things it asked me to remove- I did not and after I saw Brink's link about info, I'm glad I didn't.

This program may be good for people like Brink, who has extremely advanced knowledge, but I'm reluctant to fool around with deletion of things that may screw up my comp (as the link warns about).

Yes it is an advanced tool, meant for someone to look at the log. Not just for anyone to install. Sorry If I did not make that clear at all. That was my fault. That does sound like a lot of items though, if you want I suggest creating a new thread and posting your log so I can take a look.
