Solved I'm geting nuts over here!!!

I too will be doing the disk part and all that, so as a suggestion from a person who has done thing type of thing before MAKE SURE you have at least one other computer with you on hand (with internet access) so you can read the other parts of the process as your machine (what ever your working on at the time) is running the diskpart "clean out" and as stated by another user make notes, write things down (heck print them out too) so you can help your self!!

Dammmmmm.....

Guys, I really hate to be a pain in the bum, but I don't have good news. I actually printed the tutorial, I done everything as it says there, I waited for a long time for the DISKPART to do it's job, wich it did aparently well, but as soon as the Windows was instaled, I try the "regedit" on the "run" command and the registries of my old, very very old programs are still there. I need them out... I already deleted them all one by one manually, but I still can't instal the programs. When I bought this laptop (nearly 5 years ago) I used to have ilegal software, and then later on, I got a job, got money to pay it and so I bought the legal! Problem: With the old entries on the "regedit", the computer doesn't accept the legal software, because of the those old register of the ilegal programs that were blocked.

So, is there any way to clean this out? I remember that with a format C: used to work. So I really wonder, is there a way out or do I have to do a downgrade of OS to actually clean this out?

Thanks for your effort!

you can try a down grade but other issue could still exist and if then said issues are still present you may need to consider a new hard drive, but with out know what is being "blocked" in the registry" its hard to say, are we talking CD keys, hardware IDs, or some thing else?

well have you completely "zeroed out the drive" then reinstalled 7 fresh (use custom install)? if so have you gone through and reinstalled your third party programs from any CDs/DVDs you have? if you answer "yes" to all the questions you may need to consider the possibility of needing to get a new HDD (or SSD) and try with that...

also how many times have you installed the copy of 7 that you have? i think if you activate it after certain number of times (can't remember) you may need to call MS for activation assistance.

How many times have I installed win7? Pfff... quite a few now... Some 5 maybe??

By completely "zeroed out the drive" you mean run the DISKPART and execute the "clean all", yes, I did that. If not, how do I do it? Costum install for win7, allways!

If you ran Clean All on the target HD for install, it is not possible that anything could remain in the registry or anywhere else on the HD.

Are you sure you cleaned the correct HD? Unplug all others to make sure and run it again.

You may be misreading the Registry, which you really shouldn't muck with anyway. Will the install complete? What is the performance of Win7 like?

What is the exact problem with activating your legal copy of Win7?

Ok.

I don't know what hapened. I did a new windows install with a new "clean all" on the diskpart, and this time it is working. :zip:

I don't know what hapened, I don't care, and seriouslly I really had enough of this and I think you all too! I just really need to thank you all for your kindness and patience guiding me allong this whole process...

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

In the end, it worked...

Keep on the good work helping out people! :)

Best wishes
