Maybe I'm dim or just past it!:(, but despite looking here and elsewhere, I am utterly confused how one searches for files modified between two dates. I have succeeded on a sole date but not for a range.

Will some soul give me it step by step please:)

Win7 is definitely a steep/precipitous leaning curve; at least until I can get a Dummies or similar.

rundwald,
You can't be past it if you can come up with a Topic title like "I'm lost searching" The best I have seen for sometime. Or have I a strange sense of word use?

^Nice set of tutorials there Cassie - thanks!

You're Welcome - It can take some time getting used to Windows 7 (like anything new), and I think the short How-to videos are really pretty helpful :)

Thanks to all for the advice. The nitty-gritty of my problem was in the formatting of a search involving a date range. I had been omitting the " marks around the dates, as per pezzovantehttp://www.sevenforums.com/member.php?u=16979's post.

You might also want to look at a tutorial I wrote way back when for Vista, Advanced Searches.

Hi Rinwald
PLease forgive me if I am "teaching grannie to suck eggs" here but I tried this and eventually discovered that what I was doing was selecting one date a month ago and then selecting today's date. What I needed to do was select the first date, hold down the mouse butoon and drag through the calendar to the current date. This selects all intervening dates and shows the correct range in the search box. I found the dragging went at a rate like the Jules Verne Time Machine but with a bit of practice it was OK.
EDIT: Also can be done this way: select first date then in box type, space two dots space then last date using same date format as first date.

Actually I think I am still here, though at times I am not too sure. I guessed right as far as you are concerned as the saying "Teaching grannie etc" is concerned has an unfortunate modern conotation which is one of my pet hates.
