Hi,
I'm not sure if this topic should stick here but let's just stick to the story. A few days ago, my brother was playing a game on my PC when the so-called "Blue Screen of Death" appeared. It says something about preventing Windows from something. Then I told my brother to shut it down by holding the power button. After it shut down, I took over the PC to try & fix it. When i started the PC, it did not boot at all. The PC should show the ACER logo on the screen & after a few seconds, it should beep but nothing happened. It just turned on the fans & the DVD burner. Then i turned it off again like before. Just now, I opened the case to inspect the hard disk. I hold a screwdriver while placing the tip on the hard drive. I turned it on & I didn't felt any vibration. So I tuned it on then hold the hard drive then restart the PC. There was still no vibration. So is this a faulty hard drive?

If anybody replied this, thanks. Sorry for the long story. I just want to give as much information as posible.

Hi,

Before we come to the conclusion that the HDD has gone bad. Try to change the cable connecting the hard drive to mother board. Try to boot the PC after disconnecting all the peripherals (keyboard, mouse, DVD, Hard drive). First thing we need to check is, is your PC going to POST or not.

Keep us posted

Ok, before I do anything. I should tell you that theres nothing on the screen & the monitor stays in power saving mode. FYI, I think my PC usually does a quick POST because of the beep when it starts up before the problem happened & now theres no respons when starting it up. No beeps & nothing on the screen.

I hope you reply.

If the power supply has a power switch, turn it off. Unplug the power cord from the power supply and the wall socket or power strip. Drain the power from the pc by holding down the power button for a few seconds. Plug the power cord back into the wall/power strip, plug the power cord back into the pc, flip the switch on the power supply and turn the pc back on.

Post your results.

Hi,
I just unplug (No power switch on the PSU), hold the power button, plug it back on & nothing happened. I'll just take it to the local PC store then.

Thanks to the people who helped me but the PC is still unoperatable so the local PC store will be my last resort.
