Okay my current setup is

-1 x 250GB (70GB = Win7, 35GB = Ubuntu, Rest is junk)
-1 x 320GB
-1 x 1000GB

Just got a 10K RPM drive and i need to turn on ACPI to use my other SATA ports can this be done without a reinstall, i have just tried it to no luck. Im thinking that grub wont detect my drives to if i switch to windows boot loader will it work ? or can you simply not have ACPI without having it on from the installer

Image ?
There are two partitions do i need both ? ones a system recovery ?

I believe the student Upgrade is full version. If not, use the workaround given here to install to blank HD: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/31402-clean-install-upgrade-windows-7-version.html

Under the EULA you should have a qualifying XP or Vista OS on hand which you don't use any more.

Normally you must deep clean the HD to remove GRUB before installing Windows, then add it back afterward if you want to use GRUB as boot manager: Dual-Boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu in Perfect Harmony - windows 7 - Lifehacker
