Image Query for new SSD

Hi Guys, have had mega problems with my OCZ Vertex 128GB SSD and I know it is failing see link here for info and pics.

My question is this:

I have made two Images

1. A bare installation with all current drivers.
2. A Full Image with all my software.

When I get my drive replaced can I use the images I have or will they have the bad sectors & clusters recorded into them and when I come to re-image my new SSD will it have these bad sectors & clusters imaged onto the new drive ?

Or will it be best to to just fresh install again from scratch ?

IF your drive is not aligned you may have issues since this seems to be the way with SSD's. Generally SSD to SSD is less of an issue if the drive is properly aligned when the image is taken, very big problems can, and do, occur when imaging from a much larger hdd to an SSD. You might wish to have a restoration point on CD/DVD as well as any files you need for other software so that if you do need to do a clean install once you load the additional software and copy the files for them you could point to the restoration point and your desktop and PC should be back to normal.

Corrupted data on your existing SSD will be transferred to your image and then to your new SSD. Bad sectors themselves would be typically ignored in creating the new image.
