Ok, today i decided to dump ACDSee, because setup program and associations are totaly broken. Setup program makes ownership in registry of extensions you assign to ACDSee as "SYSTEM" so they are grayed out if you want to remove them later. But today was totaly pissed me off when i installed patch and patch associated ALL extensions acdsee can open to acdsee. So i just removed it and now im searching for replacement!

Found Faststone Image Viewer, however i dont like GUI to much. Before i install 453 other programs i want to know whats popular this days? Since i was using ACDSee for years i have no idea what alternatives are. Im basicaly searching for simple viewer for images that supports mostly all formats and you can convert from one format to another and have other standard functions you expect from this kind of program. I never needed 104 other features ACDSee was providing (like database organization, device support for cameras etc etc). So any suggestions?

I use FSIV - I think it is great and has a lot of useful functions. And for even fancier editing, I use GIMP. A little simpler one is IrfanView.

Yeah, I forgot about Picasa. But that is really a good one. You can do a lot of things with it (straighten out crooked pictures, rejuvenate very old photos that you scanned in, etc.).

Picasa (PictureViewer part) is just about what i need... only thing that bugs me is that installer detects slovenian regional settings and installs in slovenian, even tho whole system is in english and because of it, it creates slovenian shortcuts :) Oh well i can rename them manualy anyway... i just dont get why software developers do things like that. It should check display language and install in that language, not regional settings that you set because of date/time formats.... And this is not complain about picasa, but just general observation. I saw this "stupidity" in other programs as well...
