ImageX failing to image properly

So I have a known good disc to image windows 7 on some servers for work, but sometimes it takes up to 3 runs of the image to get it to take correctly then it loads just fine. I am wondering if anyone has any info or a similar situation so I can figure out how to fix this issue. If you reload the image after a good image it works perfectly these servers are new in box that we are installing to.

Servers are supermicro 4U
Xeon processors
3 SATA hdds

How is a System Image on a single disk?

Yes, single disc(DVD) it is windows 7 embedded. It doesn't seem to do anything different each install... Sometimes it works the first time sometimes the second so far it always works the third time(I guess the third time really is the charm). I just find it odd and I can't think of any reason that an image would do that.
