Importing from Iphone 6 with Autoplay not using same file names

When I use autoplay to import photos from my iphone 6. It is not seeing the duplicates already downloaded and creating duplicates with (x) extentions. In the past I had the folders by date of pictures taken and then they were sequences by numbers ie, 001, 002, etc. Now they are getting the IMG_xxx number.
I don't want to redownload photos already downloaded and I want the number sequence to remain as it previously was!

in the past it read my phone and did not download duplicates

Not sure how it happened, but in the past I used to get IMG_xxx but in My pictures folder I have the folder being created in a date format and then the pictures are in there as 001, 002, etc.

Is it a setting in autoplay? and in the past it read my phone and did not download duplicates just new pics that were taken since last download.

Anyone?
