in game glitch auto brings up pause menu

I have recently bought Leggo Hobbit on steam on the main menu it auto clicks buttons without me doing anything. once I wrestle my way into the game it brings up the pause menu without me doing anything.
similar problem playing portal 2 when on the main menu it will auto click stuff. however it does not open up the pause menu when ingame.
I have not gotten this problem with any other steam game or other game.

not sure if I should be putting this here or on the valve forums but any help is appreciated.

Any controller you are using? Try unplugging it and the keyboard while in the game to see if menu will open too.
