Hi
To all "Footie fans" everywhere
I REALLY hope this nonsense of just showing the World Cup qualifiers on the Internet only gets nipped in the bud RIGHT NOW.
I don't want to see the game (today England Vs Ukraine - World cup qualifier) in dubious quality sitting by myself looking at a smallish screen.
I want to go down to a pub, enjoy the game with loads of other footie fans with lots of beer, sarcastic comments and see it on a GIANT screen.
How much atmosphere is there in hiding away on a Saturday evening having to watch the game by yourself on say a Laptop.
I work a lot in several countries - and instead of staying in my Hotel Room in Manchester UK at the moment I'd still go out (especially on a Saturday).
Do the powers that be REALLY think the future of watching sport is this way.
If I'm travelling on a train say with a decent wi-fi system (France, Germany, Scandanavia etc all have fine Wi-fi on their express trains) then OK but things like watching sport are a SOCIAL ocasion and the Internet IMO is the wrong vehicle for this.
How can one of the greatest football nations on the planet allow this to happen.
I know England have already qualified bit people STILL want to see the game.
C'mon England supporters -- I don't get a vote here as I'm not UK born but you guys as probably the most passionate supporters in the world should really kill this whole idea STONE DEAD.
Cheers
