I am using Windows 7 exclusively as a media center (using Windows 7 Media Center).

From Media Center, when I click the "sleep" icon, the system appears to sleep, but never does, and after 5-10 minutes, system shuts down entirely only to get the "improper shutdown" screen when I restart.

Has anyone experienced this, and found a solution?

System specs:

ASUS M3A78-EM AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5050e Brisbane 2.6GHz Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core processor

4g ram

Thanks for any help..

I have experienced some unexpected sleep behavior/issues that were caused by a conflict between my machines power manager and W7's power options. The laptops driver kept resetting W7's power options settings. I removed the laptops power manager (waiting for the vendor to release W7 compatible version) and am just using W7's power options to control the settings for now and all is good again.
