i have windows 7 and i have service pack 3? iv had it for ages but iv been looking around and i cant fin service pack 3 to download for windows 7. should i have ti and how come i have it? nd also please which is better one 2 or possible 3?

There is NO Service Pack 3 for Windows 7 - there is only Service Pack 1
You may be thinking of Service Pack 3 for Office 2007.

One thing you could try is to right click on the "computer" icon on your desktop and then click properties.

There will tell us what version of windows you are running. It should say Windows 7 Home Premium sp1

my similar problem - for some reason i have service pack 3 and not service pack 1 on my windows 7 machine. i want to update windows but i cant because i dont have 'permissions'. i am administrator and i am the only one who uses it. i also want to install service pack 1 but i dont have 'permissions' i want to disable avg to see if that helps updating windows but i cant disable it. i dont have permissions to delete or uninstall the files. i tried to temp disable it but when i click apply nothing happens. is it because i dont have permissions but i am admin? i need to be able to install service pack one. disable my avg, take full and special controls. update windows. and update my avg because i tried but it says i dont have the right permissions.

This sounds to me as if your best option is to back up your data to external media and reformat/reinstall - something is SERIOUSLY wrong with your system, and without permissions to do anything it's going to be almost impossible to fix in a forum context.

re-install windows? i have oem and no hdd that can take all my files, and i recently have formatted my hdd when i switched over t ssd. If i try to install the sp1 it says you already have a later version installed?!?!? can i un-install it?

From your MGADiag report, you already have Service Pack 1 installed - but I doubt that you'll have any updates released since the advent of this problem.

Your License Type is OEM System Builder - which can only do a clean install (although that can be got around).
You say you have no HD that can take your data files - what did you do with the HD that you replaced with the SSD?
