Solved Incorrect Splash Screen

I get an incorrect Windows 7 screen (splash screen) when I start my computer that I would like to disable. I am the only user of my home computer and am not handicapped. However the first screen I see has a handicap logo on the bottom left and in the middle says "User Locked" and "Switch User". This same screen keeps popping up when my computer is idle for a short time. I tried fixing the problem with the System Configuration utility by checking the "No GUI" box under Boot options but this annoying screen still appears. How can I disable this splash screen and enable the normal Windows 7 splash screen I used to have?

Thanks

Hello hjt, and welcome to Seven Forums.

That is not the screen for the "No GUI" option like below.
Instead, this is basically your lock screen to log back in again. Double check using the tutorial below to make sure that you have screen saver password turned off by unchecking the On resume, display logon screen box.
Hope this helps for now, :)
Shawn

Logon Screen Problem

Hi Shawn,

I followed your instructions and made sure the Screen Saver password was turned off (it wasn't) by unchecking the "On resume, display logon screen" box. Doing that seems to have solved my problem and I no longer have the logon screen pop up. FYI: checking the NO GUI box in System Configuration did not work for some reason. Thanks much for your help...Hank
