Incorrectly displayed CPU speed in System

I've come across something really bizarre with my copy of windows. Just done a clean install of Windows 7 Pro x64 and I've noticed an incorrectly displayed CPU speed in System under the basic info section.



Now I don't know if I should be concerned or not, but it does not seem right that it should add that at the end. Checking device manager shows me the CPU without this extra bit of info.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar?.

Hi, Welcome to Sevenforums.

Did you overclock the CPU? Do you have a power saving scheme in place? if so the CPU is throttling up and down according to demand. change your power scheme to performance and see if it doesn't stop.
Start-control panel-power options, set it for performance, and then check your CPU frequency at idle.

Hi there .. One problem i do see is that your OS needs activated ...

I've set my CPU to the High Performance power plan, unparked the cores, turned off Intel Speedstep, etc. It was more so a curious question than any sort of problem I'm having.

Games and programs seem to run fine, apart from some things taking a bit long to open or close.

Been meaning to get Windows activated, just haven't had the money recently so it's an expense I can't afford right now .

May be a long shot but 2 suggestions....
1. activate windows, sometimes that solves many problems
2. above your cpu preformance there will be a link called "Windows Experience Index" click it, bottom of that page on the right is another link called "Re-Run assessment" this will require admin privaliges
