My mic is at 100% and it is working perfectly fine and everyone can hear me. However, at night time I have to talk really quiet or else my parents will wake up and get very mad. Talking this quiet however, nobody can hear me.

Is there some way or some program that can increase the mic volume over 100% so I can talk quietly at night time and the people I'm talking to can hear me?

I'm using Skype to talk to my friends. I'm also using the Steelseries USB Soundcard which is at 100% and with microphone boost turned on.

Try updating your Audio Driver from Device Manager.
  • Right click on computer
  • Manage
  • Click on device manager located on left pane,
  • Right click on SOUND, VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLER (collapse it) update driver search automatically
If updating the driver does not help try with uninstalling the Audio driver and install updated driver again, configure Mic again and test the issue.

If that fails look at following thread:

This isn't an issue with the audio driver. The driver works perfectly fine. What I'm trying to do is increase the mic volume beyond the max of the settings in the audio driver if that is possible.

Is there some program or something that can do that?

I went via Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Manage Audio Devices to get to the Sound panel.

I then selected Playback > Speakers > Enhancements and made sure everything was un-checked.
I then selected Playback > Speakers > Advanced and un-checked 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device'

I went to Recording > Microphone > Listen and ensured 'Listen to this device' was unchecked.
I went to Levels and ensured the Microphone level was at 100% and the Boost was at +10db
I went into Enhancements and ensured everything was un-checked.
I then into Advanced and un-checked 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device'

And finally I went into the Communications tab of the Sound panel, and changed 'When windows detects communications activity' to 'Do nothing'

Everything is already set to what you said. There is nothing wrong with talking normally during the day. I just want to be able to to talk really quietly at night and have it sound like I'm talking at a normal volume.

Probably the only thing you can do is buy a amplified mic that runs on batteries not sure on the price but probably cost more than $20.00 for a half decent one
