Well I just put together an InExpensive AMD x64 ;)

AMD x64 1660 single core cpu & Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P motherboard

It was on Sale at Fry's Electronics for $79.99.

Used a spare tower case, DVD combo drive, 1tb Samsung SATA HD.

Installed Win7 RC 7201 in about 18 mins. :thumbsup:

I know some of those hot AZ Deserts, was born in Phoenix (the year is no longer important). But, the problem is I can't go home again, some idiot put a Baseball Park on top of the house I was born in (yes I was born at home; something that happen a great deal back in. . .). :roflmao:

Not bad for not having a video card installed other then the MB. I put together one here recently (the guy wanted to use his old nvidia 256 Mb card—don't remember the series), and the best it would do was 2.1—just enough to get Aero—even with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5GHz processor. :)

This is my 6th win7 test computer install :geek:

My one x86 has a NVidia GeForce FX 5500 & only gets 2.3 on the WEI :rolleyes:

So I was relatively impressed by just tossing this together today.

I will let it run a few days before I start changing things. Burn-In time till RTM ;)

Well I guess it is about time for my 500th Post :geek:

I upgraded this InExpensive puter to the Official TechNet RTM x64 Ultimate ;)

Being a Crazy Committed Tester, I did not do a Clean Install. I upgraded Build 7201 x64 since it had been running without any problems at all. I even added 2 more GB of Ram, an AirLink wireless USB adapter, Creative Optiva Pro WebCam, to the Build 7201 before I upgraded to the RTM. :o I didn't uninstall anything first. I made a bootable 8gb USB flash drive per the tutorials as my install media. Even added some extra folders of shareware downloads, Wallpaper, etc to have on the flash drive if needed. Everything went extremely well with no problems. It took about 45 minutes for the upgrade vs. the clean install of about 14 minutes. All my settings from Build 7201 transferred & so did my Gadgets & programs. Even AVG Antivirus. When I checked Device Manager, I had NO hardware errors! :huh: Therefore I must say that I was impressed with this install/upgrade with the Official TechNet RTM x64 Ultimate
