Solved Infinite reset loop, keyboard unresponsive

I was reinstalling Windows 7 Professional, doing a clean install when it hit a hang up on the Completing Installation phase of the install. It was stuck there for 2 hours, so I forced the computer off and on...

It then did a lengthy disk check that I had admittedly ignored many times before, and fixed a bunch of errors by reverting them to their default destination. Then it did it again (to double check I'm guessing) and reset for the millionth time.

Well it gets back into what looks like is gonna be the install program again, and it gives me and error message telling me that there was an error and it needs to reset, which is virtually the only option.

Thats where the reset loop occurs. I can't do anything about it because my USB keyboard won't work during the bootup process...

What do?

Okay, tried using a new keyboard (A Microsoft keyboard!) and it worked fine. Problem solved.

Dear DrHerpington,
from one doc to another! Now that the install has gone well, what HD tool did you use? Hard Disks are tricky things and you may consider an external HD for Backup& restore. IMO, if B&R is Gold ,then an Extn.HD is Platinum. Just my 2 cents worth!
