Solved Inheritable permissions for a storage partition

Hello,

I need help setting up my network. It all started when I reinstalled my brothers computer. After a clean win7 reinstall I shared his storage partition (this always worked before) by joining the homegroup and checking the full control box for everyone. Now when I would try to access it, it said windows doesn't have permission to access ****-PC.

Now I figured out how to set permissions for the partition, but the problem is none of the folders in the partition inherit those permissions. I checked the -replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object- box, but it did help.

So my question is how do I set it up so that the permissions transfer down to folders, subfolders, and new folders?

Ah, so in the end I figured it out.

For some stupid reason when you add a group to the (properties>security>advance>change>edit) it doesn't inherit to the folders and subfolders or any new folders you make, but if you go to (properties>security>edit) whatever you change or add there it inherits to the whole partition ie. all folders and files.
