Solved Initial install partion

Hi all,

My first post here...
I joined the forum in hopes of not needing help, but a day after installing a Win 7 upgrade over Vista, I'm seeing something that doesn't look right. Right now I'm showing my C drive as 3.13gb available of 14.6gb and the D drive says 268gb available of 283gb. It appears that the D drive is stuff left over form Vista, and the small C partition has all the current stuff. I'm guessing I made a mistake on the install. Is there a fix?

It looks as though Windows 7 has tried to install to your recovery partition, which is far too small - Microsoft recommend a minimum of 20GB to install Windows 7.

Personally, I think you should forget an upgrade and go for a clean install instead - you are far less likely to encounter problems.

And yes, you can do a clean install with an upgrade disc, as this tutorial explains.

Thanks for the quick replies! I think I'm going to try the clean install, since don't have any data on the machine and haven't loaded much software yet. I'll report back. Thanks.
