Hi guys!!
Hope you can help me with this one!
I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 yesterday, everything went well untill i installed the audio drivers for my motu.
First thing i noticed was that when i turned on the sound card, the red cross on the notification area still showed. So i went to sound devices, and it said that there was no audio output device installed, although when i change to the recording tab it shows all the 12 output of the card.
I have tried everything from older drivers to completely reinstalling windows passing through firewire legacy drivers, restarting the Windows audio services.....Pretty much everyting i could think of and could find through google. I have also contacted the manufacturer but have got no answer.
Now here's the cherry, I'm a musician and I have a gig on saturday and i can't get it readdy without sound.

Pleaaaaaase Help ME!!

Welcome qbit!

Have you tried uninstalling the sound driver in Device Manager, rebooting, and letting Windows automatically install the drivers?

Hi guys!!
Hope you can help me with this one!
I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 yesterday, everything went well untill i installed the audio drivers for my motu.

If you updated right before a gig... shame on you!

Ok, now let's see if we can get you running.

Have you completed the MOTU firmware update in order to run in Windows 64-bit?

Here's the text from MOTU:

"828mk3 Firmware v1.06 Updater for 64-bit Windows

This installer updates an 828mk3 to firmware version 1.06. To determine which firmware version is currently installed on your 828mk3, look at the front panel LCD while the interface boots or check the 828mk3 tab of the MOTU Audio Console program."

Next:

Only use this driver... 64fw-3.7.37320.zip

Also... if you're using the MOTU in a professional capacity, aren't you using the low-latency ASIO driver? Don't be running the system garbage through the MOTU.

I did update because i had the beta version of windows 7 running and it expired. And the card was running smoothly with the beta.

What you say about the 828 is right. Except I have an 896MK3, and motu hasn't released an updated firmware for it. I did try out the 64fw-3.7.37320.zip driver, which is the latest one, but no luck, i also tried with older drivers but no luck either.

I'm afraid i might commit blasphemy today.... if i don't find a solution.
