While watching youtube, got many popups about java update. When it was updated, computer went re-booting and after the Dell/win 7's logo, a warning to start in safemode appeared and it starts doing(safemode) itself. Ater crunching, it gives BSOD with error mentioned below. (Btw It gives you system restore option when pressing F' keys, but ends up in the same loop after crunching and restart. Command mode option shows, but does not comes up when hit. Dell's Diagnotstic CD for 32bit shows no hardware problems.)

Dell N5110 Inspiron
cpu i5 2.4GHz, 4Gb RAM, BIOS A09
win 7 home prem 64bit
I have no recovery/Win7 Disk

Dell N5110 BSOD Errror:

Any suggestions what went wrong or how to rectify this problem???
Thank you.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

We could also use some system information, which you can get easily by running msinfo32.
To do that go to start>run>type msinfo32>enter

When it is finished running go to file>save>name it and upload to us here.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Many thanks for the reply. It wont load windows but it tries: After the boot, it shows the logo followed by load bar/password and then bsod appears. When I try to boot into safe mode. it takes you there when normal, safe mode, command prompt etc options are offered: afterthat regardless of what ever choice is selected, it crunches and comes up with bsod again.
CPU is not over clocked, bios are having default values.
Is there any other way to copy dump file while windows not loaded?
(I have ordered online, dell's recovery disk containing win 7, but I think it may take couple of weeks to deliver)
Thanks again,
DG

Dells recovery disk doesnt "include" win 7 just provides a bootable wasy to access the recovery partition.

I am unsure about if you can get into safe mode. If so you can get the dmps from there.

Well if you cant boot in any manner your options are limited.

Is it under warranty?

Yes it is under warranty but I doubt that they can solve this problem over the phone.
