First of all, good day to all 
I'm a newbie in terms of multi-booting, and based from my basic info gathering around the net regarding multi-booting OSes, I've decided to do an eleven-OS setup into my laptop w/ a 500gb hard drive (for educational purposes); but my problem is, I badly need to install Windows 7 and XP into logical drives, because I need the primary partitions for some specific OSes. Here is my installation plan:
1) Primary 1 - FreeDOS 1.0 (probably FAT32 file system)
2) Primary 2 - OpenSolaris
3) Primary 3 - FreeBSD 7.2
4) Extended Partition containing these logical drivesh:
a) Windows XP (32-bit)
b) Windows 7 (64-bit)
c) Haiku BeOS
d to h) 5 different Linux distros (Ubuntu 9.10, Arch Linux, Mandriva, OpenSUSE, Slackware)
i) Linux swap space (of course)
I'm also planning to use Grub4Dos as my boot manager (I also want to boot ISOs as well)
I did a lot of googling and stuff around the net; and obviously I found some helpful links; this site explains very well, but doesn't indicate Vista or Windows 7.
So far I attempted this: I was able to install Windows XP then backup hard disk, and repeated the same for Windows 7 installation. Then I restored the backups to different logical partitions, and tried to boot them via Grub2 (installed via Ubuntu), but failed to do so.
Really need your help guys, again I'm a rookie regarding these kind of stuff.
