Install Disk with Format Options

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can obtain an install disk which has the option to allow me to format the disk?

I have a license key but I've lost my original disk which allowed me to format and re-partition as part of the install procedure. I downloaded one some time back but as you boot from it it just launches into installation which is of no use

Is there any way to get a copy of the original disk? I know most manufactures don't supply them these days but a copy of one of the original disks would be useful!!

As far as I know, ANY valid install disk will allow you to delete all partitons midway through the install process via a "drive options, advanced" choice seen when you are asked "where do you want to install Windows?" You then select the remaining blank space and Windows will automatically format it during the next steps.

And that same disk should allow you to enter the Diskpart program before the install if you hit Shift F10 on the keyboard when you come to the screen asking you to choose a language. Diskpart can be used to wipe all data from the disk before entering the install---if you prefer this method rather than simply deleting all partitions later via "drive options, advanced". You can also make and format partitions within Diskpart if you want.

Either should work. It's another question whether or not the thing you downloaded is valid.

I downloaded the ISO from here. It was surprising they just launch into the installation and don't give you the option to partition the disk

I don't get the install window just a dialog which confirms the version being installed and when you click next it just starts installing.....

I have no idea what you`re talking about, it always comes to a partition window, it doesn`t just install windows.

You said you downloaded the iso, did you create an install dvd ?

Stupid question, but you don`t mention it at all.

I'm actually trying to install on my VM. The first time it is run, I can choose an ISO to boot from.

I'll try creating a DVD and boot from that to see whether I get any different screens / options

You create a partition in a VM before you even begin to install the OS, so I still don`t understand why you`re having a problem.
