Solved Install Explorer 11

I am re-installing Win7 and so far so good except Windows Update is stuck on Internet Explorer 11 update. All other updates (important + optional) have been added successfully except for IE-11 which has failed at least 10 times. How can I tell Win Update to ditch that update? Win Update wants to install IE-11 on my machine come hell or high water!

Try this,
Install all reg updates, find the IE 11 update and uncheck it, once the updates have finished. Try updating it your self downloading it from windows website. Make sure you are updating the IE with steps like 9>10>11. Run CCleaner. And try it in safemode if that all fails here the link to there site. Oh and your video card is all updated.

The standalone installer (linked to by ZacharyB in post #2) sometimes works when Windows Updates fail. But before you try that, I would curious to know if following the steps in this tutorial allows IE11 to install via Windows update: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91738-windows-update-reset.html

e.g. did you hide the update?
did you use the standalone installer?
did you reset WU?
did the issue solve itself?
