install freezes at setup is starting.

OK, trying to put windows 7 on a motion m1300 tablet. 1gig ram 1ghz cpu and 60gb hard drive. due to the bios being limiting install from xp desktop is impossible, so using an external disk drive i am trying to do a clean install, but it just stops at setup is starting, i know that seven will run on these, seen it with my own eyes, but i cannot get setup past this part.

i have a feeling its the graphics driver, but getting into device manager from the language screen/ click here to install screen hasnt worked. its not in the system32 folder and so i dont know where to look

edit: before its asked, yes the disk is good, and i cant use a usb because the bios wont alow it. also the bios are up to date.

edit:2 tried finding where the device manager is hiding, still no luck. looked at both of the other threads talking about it and still haven't had luck.

any ideas? i have figured out that it isnt the ram thats hanging the system up still stumped though.

okay so i got it to work by installing 7 on the hard drive in an old computer and quit right as it got to setting up on your computer, tossed it in the tablet and it works. thanks for the help! lol

Sorry we missed this. In the future use a flash stick installer, write iSO using Universal USB Installer.

There is nothing in the BIOS that could limit XP from installing 7 from its desktop if the hardware is compatible.

the installer would quit giving the message that i needed to update the bios to a version that was already installed. and there is no option to boot via usb in the bios (couldn't change the order to usb first, because it wasn't an option.

Did you try the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key which most computers have? It will be found under Removable, USB, or HD's. Plug in the stick.

i'm pretty sure this doesn't have that its running a fairly crappy phoenix setup. but yeah installing on another pc till the first little bit worked well. now i am just having driver issues due to the miniscule support available to these tablets.

Rely on the installer's drivers quickly updated by optional Windows Updates. Then search for any missing drivers on the manufacturer's Support Downloads webpage, using Google if necessary, or as a last resort use DriverMax free version to get the really hard to find ones.

Never change out drivers given by the installer or optional Updates unless performance dictates doing so. This is not XP - Win7 is the authority on the drivers it wants.

yeah, thats not the issue i'm having i put a post in the driver section. the graphics driver and im guessing the chipset driver both install fine, then on restart they reinstall as though its something new, sometimes it fails and sometimes it wants me to restart. repeats every restart.
