HI,
I'm having problems after moving my GC to a higher slot on my Asus z87 sabertooth motherboard
You might know the card is quite big ,when i built it i installed it in the slot which was just above the PSU.
So, to give the fans more breathing space i move it.
now when it boots theres no card and it installs the standard VGA drivers.
Nothing in device manager or anything
Any ideas pls??
I thought of a bios reset or maybe a fresh install?
Do you think these might help??

Hi Gaz, ideally any gpu should be installed in the top slot, is this the slot it is in now?

You could try re-seating the card to make sure it is definitely located correctly.
Yes you could also try resetting the bios. I would not bother with a clean install of windows though as I doubt that would change anything.

Paul.

The slot directly above the PSU is the black x4 slot. Or are you referring to the brown slot?

What colour slot is not working? Beige or Brown?

The top slot is typically preferable because it's usually the x16 slot. But boards like the Sabretooth also run at x16 with a single GPU.

Yep. Double check it's seated correctly and the power plugs are also firmly in place.

+1 - You don't need to do this.

There may be a setting in the BIOS that lets you adjust the ports speeds ie x16/x16/x1 or x16/x8/x4
