Regarding this week's latest batch of updates. The majority of the updates including SP3 and all updates requiring a boot installed just fine.

After boot, being prompted to install the last three (attached screen shot), I proceeded. The update for the 3 reported succeeded. After I closed the bubble to look at the installed updates, the icon reappeared to install updates (the same last 3). I did this 3 times all with the same result.

Then I uninstalled the 3 problematic updates that had installed okay. During the uninstall, the OS advised to close 3 apps (I was not prompted to close these 3 during the install). I did so and rebooted.

After boot, 2 of the 3 apps were running and I stopped their processes. I again installed the 3 updates, again they reported OK upon install and again the stupid icon appears wanting to install these same updates.

Suggestion?

A lot of people are having that problem. There are a few topics about it on this forum. I think all we can do is wait.
