I just purchased a dell xps and it came with 7 premium. I own a ultimate version however only in 32 bit. I installed the anytime upgrade over the air and had issues with long boot times ect..so need a clean Install. IS there somewhere I can download the media for 64 bit.

Edit I should add I do have the 32bit media.
Thanks

Andre

Your best bet would be to find a friend with the 64bit version, then use your key to activate it.... ;)

Sounds like you had Boot problems before using Anytime upgrade, only adds-on the Programs & Features from version to version.

How to use Dell Recovery, & how to order Recovery Disks.

I was getting 50 sec from desktop restart. I did the anytime upgrade and increased to over double. Are you saying there are no benefits to a clean install using this method? I guess the ultimate only adds services. I did boot to recovery to dell defaults and still getting Error 100 which is a little worryinig as I have just past my 21 days option to return the machine. I guess I'll have to get to the bottom of the issue.

Thanks for your replies guys.

Just a quick update:

I'm back under 50 seconds from desktop shut down to boot, Only thing I did was to disable windows sounds which I really do not like anyways. I guess maybe since I restored to factory it was building the prefetch folder.

I think I will do the anytime upgrade again and Install service pack 1. Here's wishing me luck!!
